You should probably use some more high quality bases. All of these icons have a very grainy texture to it that doesn't jive well with the colors, which could probably be enhanced. I suggest playing around with layers more to bring out the colors you want.

Right now, otherwise, these look like flat crops.

Ah, thanks! I had to get really close to the screen to notice the texture, but now that I've messed with my monitor a bit, it really shows. Ugh. Is it mostly the top row for you, or do they all look like that?

The bottom row is significantly less grainy than the top row, I think!

And my advice is to look up some icon making tutorials, to show you how to play with layers.

Derp, and I made those months ago. I need to know what I was on. I looked over the files and I think part of the problem is how I saved the icons. The base screencaps I used were grainy, but not nearly that grainy!
